Racking systems are essential to store large quantities of certain items, and are extremely useful. Properly maintaining racking systems is also an important duty required from the employer to ensure the safety of the workers.

Our qualified team of engineers can work with employers to design the specific racking system to suit each employer’s needs. Sigma Can Engineering will send over qualified and competent Engineers to inspect the racking systems and to perform a thorough investigation to ensure that everything is properly installed and used correctly.  Sigma Can Engineering will also give suggestions on how to improve and calculate the maximum loads of each of the racking systems. Sigma Can Engineering will create PSR reports. Every employer is responsible to provide safety in the workplace and to ensure that a PSR has been provided by a Competent Insured Certified Professional Engineer that carries a Certification of Authorization from the Professional Engineers Ontario to engage in the business of providing engineering service to the public to determine compliance with the Ontario Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) section 7 for Industrial Establishments Reg. 89/90. Sigma Can Engineering will compile a complete and detailed PSR report which will include all the details and measurements to insurance compliance with the provisions of section 7 of the OHSA. This report should be kept in the workplace at a readily accessible location.

A rack is a single or multi-level structural storage system. The right racks allow rapid access to stored or mounted materials. Racking systems maximize facility space while simplifying inventory requirements. Pallet racks are among the most widely used type of storage solutions in heavy industry, shipping and manufacturing. Rack decking is manufactured in a variety of styles, from wire mesh to channel-reinforced steel decking. Sigma Can Engineering offer engineering analysis and design of material handling storage systems and safety audit.

Sigma Can Engineering can provide you with a comprehensive Safety Inspection and/or a PSR report to insure your industrial racking structure systems are compliant with the OHSA for Industrial Establishments Reg. 89/90.  We can also implement and maintain a Racking Inspection Program to insure the continued safety of your racking system.
